Ordering Your First Vape Online

What the options are, what the numbers on the product pages mean, and how to put together a first order. For adults 18+. General information only — not health or medical advice.

How a vape works

Inside every vape is a battery, a small heating coil and a liquid. When you draw on it, the battery warms the coil, the coil turns the liquid into vapour, and you inhale that vapour. The difference between devices is mostly who does the maintenance: a disposable comes sealed and pre-filled, while a refillable kit is something you keep and top up.

The three main options

Reading the product page

Puff rating and strengthThe puff rating is a lab estimate of how many draws a device gives. The mg figure is the nicotine strength. If you are choosing between two strengths, the lower one is the safer first pick.
Nicotine salt or freebaseDisposables and pod kits mostly use nicotine salt, which feels smoother at higher strengths. Freebase liquid is more common in larger refillable devices.E-liquids

Putting together a first order

A simple approachOrders start at $250, and everything in the store counts toward that. Many first-time buyers pick a few different flavours in the same device, or add a refillable kit and some pouches to compare. The supply planning guide helps you estimate how long an order will last, and the ordering walkthrough covers payment and delivery.

Using a disposable

  1. 1Take it out of the box. Remove the device from its packaging and pull off any rubber or silicone plugs on the mouthpiece and the base.
  2. 2Just inhale. Almost all disposables switch on when you draw on the mouthpiece. There is no button to press.
  3. 3Draw slowly. A slow draw of a few seconds works better than a short, hard pull.
  4. 4Leave gaps between puffs. Giving it a little time between puffs lets the coil soak up liquid again and keeps the flavour consistent.
  5. 5Keep it somewhere sensible. Away from heat and water, and out of reach of children and pets.

The rules in Australia

18+ only, and the rules keep changing

You must be 18 or over to buy. Vaping products are regulated nationally by the TGA, the rules have changed several times since 2024, and states set their own limits on where you can vape. Our Vaping Laws page links to the official sources.

First-timer questions

What should I order as a first-timer?

Most people start with a disposable, because there is nothing to set up. Ordering two or three different flavours is a sensible way to find out what you like before buying more of one.

How do I use a disposable vape?

Take off any plugs, then inhale slowly on the mouthpiece — it switches on by itself. Leave a little time between puffs.

What does the mg number mean?

It is the amount of nicotine — per mL for e-liquids, per pouch for pouches. If you are unsure which to pick, choose a lower strength first. Each product shows its strength where it has one.

Is vaping safe?

Vaping is not risk-free, and we cannot give medical advice. For health questions, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
