1Create your CoinJar account
Sign-up takes about 5 minutes in the app.
- 1Download the CoinJar app from the App Store or Google Play, open it, and tap Sign Up.
- 2Enter your email, read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then tap Agree.
- 3Click the activation link CoinJar emails you. If you don't confirm within 24 hours, your data is deleted and you have to sign up again.
- 4Sign in and choose your CoinJar username.
2Verify your identity
Verification is required before you can buy, and you must be 18 or older.
- 1On the Home screen, tap Verify your info.
- 2Enter your details exactly as they appear on your ID. A mismatch is the most common reason verification fails.
- 3Tap Verify photo ID and photograph your driver's licence or passport.
- 4Take a selfie with your front camera to finish.
Turn on Enhanced Security (two-factor authentication) before adding any money.

Card purchases cost a 2% CoinJar fee and land in your wallet once your bank approves them.
- 1Tap Buy/Sell in the bottom menu bar.
- 2Pick a cryptocurrency (for example Bitcoin), then tap Buy.
- 3Choose Link a credit or debit card.
- 4Enter your card number and choose AUD as the billing currency. Another currency may add a foreign exchange fee from your card provider.
- 5Enter the amount in AUD and tap Next. Buy the amount we quote for your order, plus a few dollars for the network fee.
- 6Approve the payment on your bank's verification screen. Nothing is charged until you complete this step.
- 7Your Bitcoin appears in your CoinJar wallet.

4Send the Bitcoin to pay for your order
The first purchase with any new card is held in your reserved balance for seven days, so you can’t send it straight away. Your order stays reserved while you wait.
- 1On your order page, tap Get Payment Details on WhatsApp. We reply with our wallet address and the exact amount to send for your discounted total.
- 2In CoinJar, tap Send and choose wallet address as the recipient type.
- 3Paste the address we sent, or scan its QR code. The network must match the coin: Bitcoin to a Bitcoin address, ETH to an Ethereum address.
- 4Enter the amount we quoted. For XRP, add the Destination Tag, and for XLM check whether a Memo ID is needed.
- 5Tap Next to see your final quote. CoinJar adds a network fee based on the amount and how busy the blockchain is.
- 6Confirm with your passcode or biometrics, then reply on WhatsApp with your order number so we can match the payment.
- •Tick the box to save our address to your Address Book with a nickname, so next time you pick it from the list.
- •Before sending a large amount, send a small test amount and confirm it arrived.
- •Compare the first and last few characters of the pasted address with the one we sent.

How does the 15% crypto discount work?
Choose Cryptocurrency at checkout and 15% comes off the product subtotal straight away — the discounted total is shown before you place the order. Shipping isn't discounted. The $250 minimum order and free shipping from $300 are based on your cart before the discount, so choosing crypto never pushes you under either.
Do I have to use CoinJar?
No. Any exchange or wallet that can send the coin we quote works. This guide uses CoinJar because it is Australian and accepts Australian Visa and Mastercard cards. We are not affiliated with CoinJar.
Which coins can I pay with?
Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT and others. Tell us on WhatsApp which coin you have and we will send the matching address and network.
How long does paying with crypto take?
CoinJar holds the first purchase made with a new card for seven days before it can be sent, so allow for that on your first order. Your order stays reserved while you wait. Once your payment arrives, we dispatch within one business day.
Why was my card declined?
Some Australian banks block card payments to crypto exchanges, including CommBank, Bankwest, NAB and HSBC. Another card, or paying by PayID instead, gets around it.
